Absolute Contracting LLC runs its own commercial HVAC, sheet metal and refrigeration work. AbsCon is the estimating engine we built for our own bids — every quantity comes from a stated rule of thumb you can see and replace, and the math is deterministic, so two estimators get the same number.
Rectangular and round duct, fittings, transitions, plenums, hangers and seal class are counted from floor area and stated airflow rules — not lump-sum allowances. Grease duct and kitchen exhaust are carried as separate lines.
Tonnage uses a stated square-feet-per-ton rule of thumb with airflow near 1 CFM per square foot, so rooftop units, splits and heat pumps land on the estimate with a flagged assumption you replace with a real load calc before ordering.
Door clear opening width is checked on every job. A doorway under 36" flags standard scissor lifts and suggests narrow electric scissor lifts, vertical mast lifts and Baker scaffolds so the right access equipment shows up the first time.
Walk-ins, reach-ins, remote condensing units, line sets and EPA 608 certification are carried in the crew and material lines. Final charge, superheat and subcooling are flagged for field verification — never estimated as fact.
Pull prices from your saved vendor quotes or run a market-pricing refresh for your region. Per-row overrides on the estimate still win for that job, and blank fields keep the built-in baseline so the total never goes blank.
